Hi ladies,
I am a self employed mama, actually due with my first baby in just under 4 months.
I've reached the point in my 17 month old business where it's time to sh*t or get off the pot, if you know what I mean. I have been working really hard the last few months to grow and expand my business AND simultaneously get it ready to run without me (with somebody/other people in my place). It has never been the most profitable business, but it has been a very time-consuming hobby! I am looking at either down sizing and moving my business into my home, where it can continue to be mostly a hobby, though with the lower overhead, maybe it will become profitable! Or, I have to take the next step, move to a downtown location, and really try to grow.
I know that is all sort of vague. But, does anybody have some words of wisdom as to what to do? I"m not sure if my feelings of not wanting to take the risk are just due to being pregnant....I have always been someone who is not afraid of risk, and when I say I am going to do something, I just do it. However, I am faced with the reality that when I have my baby, I will not be able to run my business in the same way that I do now. I am worried that if I hire people to run it for me, and it's not profitable enough, then I will end up paying them out of my own pocket, and that's just silly.
Help!
