How to find a welder?

A metal joint on my bed snapped (it's an all metal bed), and it will need to be welded back together. Any ideas on where I start looking for a welder who would do a job like this? I don't have a clue.

I'd start with the phone book. There are 8 welding places in my tiny phone book, but of course, who knows if they'd be willing to do such a little job. Doesn't hurt to call, though.

also try looking under machine shops in the phone book. they may be used to "odd" jobs like yours. you could also try posting an ad on craigslist.

Ask around. There are a lot of people with welders in their garage who'd be happy to make a few extra bucks on an easy job.

See if there's a school nearby. DH took a welding course and they were always doing odd jobs for people as experience. Fixing small things were free.
