Help...I hear it's great for a number of reasons and we are going to have some chicken bones leftover this weekend and I don't know what to do with them...

I have a crockpot and water, now what to do?

Simmer the bones in water, with a little vinegar or lemon juice (1/4 cup? 1/8 cup?), maybe a dash of salt, and veggie scraps if you have some. Anywhere from 1 to 48 hours, I do overnight and strain it and refrigerate or freeze in the morning.

ok, great...how much water for say, 12 chicken legs?

I do 2 quarts of stock, so I start with about 10 cups of water for 1 chicken carcass. So the bones of 12 legs, I would put 10-12 cups of water.
