Can't get my purees smooth enough for my 8 mo old

Our DS does not like thicker textures, so I need to get it really smooth. I have been making and freezing my own baby started foods.

I steamed two peeled Anjou pears, added BM and used my food processer, but it still is lumpy. Ditto for green beans.

I look at the off the shelf purees and they are so smooth. I'm sure they have special equipment to make it that way.

Any ideas for how to get a smoother puree?

My first tip is not what you asked, but I'm awesome like that, so:

I'd hold off on solids for a bit more if your kiddo doesn't like any texture. That whole "food before one is just for fun" thing and all.

More to the point, you may want to pick up a china cap or other tightly meshed sieve. China caps are outstanding for making soups and other fine purees. If you have a stand mixer, like a Kitchen Aid, they sell a great food grinder/pureer attachment for around 50$, or if your existing food processor isn't cutting it (hur hur, I kill me) you can get a little hand mixer/blender for about 25$.

I'd also cook whatever food much more, until it's practically falling apart on its own, but cooking anything to that extent isn't so great nutritionally, so I don't know how beneficial it would be for a baby who is just eating to explore tastes and textures.

(Commercial baby food, like all prepared soups, sauces, etc, is made so smooth via overcooking and industrial grade extruder, blenders, and the like.)

IME, for a really fine puree a blender works better than a food processer. Food processers are better for chopping, blenders are more specifically for pureeing and liquidising.

my ds also only likes things really smooth. I have had good luck with adding in a lot more breastmilk than usual - even if I make it too thin, it's easier to thicken it than thin it so I start out really thin to get it smooth

You need an Immersion blender.
