Was your dog on Advantage while you were pregnant?

I'm trying to conceive, currently in the "test next week" phase. My poor pup has a bad case of fleas. Advantage has worked before, but I'm a bit worried about putting it on her when I might be growing a little person. I can't find anything about this in the internet and my vet doesn't know about it either.

A slew of stories (1 sentence=fine) about healthy babes born while family pup on Advantage would help put my mind at ease. Or directions to some scientific info would be great too.

Not quite the same, but I gave my cats Frontline while I was pregnant several times (we were having issues with ticks). I read up about it and had DH help me do it, but I didn't find anything saying *not* to use it while pregnant. I have a healthy and happy 8 month old now! And luckily it's winter so no more ticks for the time being.

Not advantage specifically, but we have used Frontline and Revolution on the cat (switched from one to the other a couple months ago), and Advantix on the dog. I just wash my hands REALLY well after applying, and I don't touch that part of the pet until it's completely dry.

Yep, my dog was on Advantix (similar I believe) while I was pregnant and we had no problems at all. I used rubber gloves to apply it and avoiding touching it while it was kind of greasy for a few days.

They do have an oral anti-flea med that works very quickly - I think it is Capstar? You may look into something like that too. I am now using Comfortis, another oral anti-flea med which doesn't work as fast but it is a preventative. I use this now because DS touches the dog all the time and I don't want him coming in contact with the pesticide since he puts his hands in his mouth.

Not advantage, but we use frontline. It never occured to me not to use it. I'm the one that applies it, and one dog spends quite a bit of time in our bed.

Yes, both my dogs were on advantage while I was pg w/ my son (and probably my dd too - just can't remember). I always had my dh apply it and they dogs would stay outside for a few hours afterward. DS is a happy, healthy 10 month old!
