BM Looks Different Now In Fridge? Whats Up?

Hi ladies!

My LO is 8 weeks and 3 days old...I noticed that my pumped milk is not looking the same as it used to in the fridge. There is still the fat on top- but the stuff at the bottom is MUCH more clear....

This is the composition for pumping after nursing, so it isn't just "foremilk"....

Does the composition of BM chnage this early???

Yeah, it's probably normal. Mine wold look different all through pumping depending on a number of factors including what I ate.

Mine changed too. I also notice with mine it seems to separate more the longer it's in the fridge. I have mine in a little row and you can tell by looking what's been in there for 1 day versus 3.

Same here. By the end of day 1 there's a layer of cream at the top but the rest of the milk still looks opaque and homogeneous. After 2 or 3 days in the fridge the bottom half of the bottle looks thin and blue-tinged, the top half still looks somewhat opaque, and the cream at the top is almost pastelike and sticks to the walls.

Sometimes a feel a little like a mad scientist with all my little bottles of milk on freezing day, all the mixing up milk and bags and bottles everywhere!

Groovyem! I SO know what you are talking about! I always say to my DH-- please take our son and give me about 25 minutes--- it's MILK TIME in the kitchen....he knows to stay out because the bags, bottles, tags, pens, etc. are all over the place until I get everything in it's place in the fridge and freezer. I do this every 3 days-- and its quite a sight!!!

Ladyleah - I never thought my life would revolve around my boobie milk! I told everyone I should've been a dairy cow for halloween!

LOLOL...Yeah- I could have killed my DH this morning....he asked me:

"How are the "feeders" feeling this morning" .....

Heh. My DH has been calling them "snack packs."
