found lump, scared, need to talk to someone - new update post 17 - Page 2

Since I posted this thread I have had the MRI which didn't show anything bad (yay!). I will be having an ultrasound done of the lump (they are going to call in the next couple of days and my appointment should be next week or the week after). I also just had a ton of blood work done (checking hormones, thyroid, vit and min levels, etc), the results of which I'll hear at my next dr's appointment in a wk and a half.

I am still having the tingling. It got worse since posting this thread and now has gotten a bit better. I have also had a couple of episodes of tachycardia and I went for an ECG (will get results at the dr's appointment) and have an appointment with a cardiologist in mid-May. I also have an appointment with the neuro in mid-June. And with an Opthamologist to check out the floaters I've been having that started with the other symptoms.

And I've had a couple of chest x-rays because of a lingering cough.

Whew. I think that's it.

So all that to say that I still have no idea what's going on, but things are definitely in motion to try and get to the bottom of this!

I'm so glad your doctors are being proactive!

Prayers and positive thoughts that they get to the bottom of what's going on, it's easily treatable and you can start feeling better!

This may sound weird, but could you have the mumps?

Oh wow, first of all it's interesting to know about the Mumps outbreak around here (we don't vax our kids).

I don't think that my symptoms seem to fit with what I've read about mumps. The lump that I have is small, hard and unmoving and at the top of my chest at the clavicle. I also haven't had any fever.

Just a thought, since you mentioned the sensations in your cheek, swollen lymph nodes thereabouts, and tiredness. I've also read of people with milder mumps getting low grade or even no fever.

Anyway, I hope you figure it out and feel good soon!

That is interesting! I'll do a little bit more reading about mumps to see if it might possibly be a fit.
