Milk Kefir not working

Anyone use the powder? I put four packets into a half gallon of water for 24 hours. It's still as liquid as milk. Does it need longer? We stirred it, is that bad? I thought of sticking it in the oven on proof over night, it's like 80 degrees. Yay or nay?

We stirred it and left it several more hours near the oven. It worked! I wonder if the cream separation made a barrier and the cultures got caughts up in that layer...
