Infected belly button - what can I use?

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I apologize if it doesn't belong here.

I just noticed that my belly button is extremely red inside and when I touch it it's sore. There's not any discharge or anything, but it has a foul smelling odor (sorry, I know, gross).

Any idea on what it could be and what I could use to clear it up?

I used to get that same thing when i had my belly button pierced. I would always put like a teaspoon of sea salt in a cup and mix that with about a cup of hot water (as hot as you can on your stomach) and kinda squish my stomach fat (sorry that is kinda gross) down into the glass to create a seal, then laydown on the couch and let it soak for like 15 mins to a half hour. Salt is a great healer and will pull the infection out. Good Luck

It's very possibly yeast. Try some lotrimin cream. If it's yeast, it will respond pretty quickly.

You can also try swabbing it with GSE or coconut oil.

Thanks for the information, ladies! It actually seems to have cleared up on its own.
