microscope recomm. for younger children

I am looking into getting the boys a mircoscope that is very child friendly and reasonalby priced. I'd prefer it to be an actual mircroscope not just a magnifier so that we can get some great slides (rainbow resources)

We got a great kit today and will be making our petri dishes and my oldest DS has a peeked interest in germs and bacteria lately so were running with it. It dosent have to be very expensive because honestly it might not last too long in our house plus once the boys get to an age to need a "real" microscope im planning on buying a very nice one but we are many yrs from that. Any suggestions?

We haven't used it much, so I can't give a thorough recommendation of it, but we recently purchased the National Geographic 103 piece Microscope Kit. So far, it's been great, but again, we just got it and haven't used it all that much.

This is the one we got for Christmas. http://www.amazon.com/C-A-Scientific-MFL-06-Duo-Scope/dp/B000NOU54O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1265504203&sr=1-1

It's quite nice but not too expensive. It allows you to both magnify and look at slides because it has the dual light source. There's tons of reviews on it so reading those might help you make your decision. Amazon also has a nice set of slides by Learning Resources, listed in the recommendations. HTH
