Milk Supply

I didn't know quite how to title this. I wanted to see if anyone else had a baby like this. I have a 6 mo and he's been sleeping through the night since about 2 1/2 to 3 mo. For a couple weeks now he's gone down to eating 3 times a day. I feed him whenever he gets hungry, so it's not a purposeful thing. He's still getting bigger, so it's not like he's not getting enough. And he's always eaten from both sides during the same feeding since birth.

Now, my question is, my boobs only get super full at night these days (because I've gone 12 hours), but my boobs are still a little squishy for the other 2 feedings during the day. Is this just normal as my baby gets bigger and my milk isn't like it was when he was newborn? Or my boobs are finally just used to what amount of milke he eats and they produce what he needs now, instead of over producing?

He also complains a little sometimes towards the end of eating and I was wondering if it was because my milk was slowing down and not coming fast enough for him like it was at the beginning. He's not complaining due to hunger, he does that in between sides. lol

Could my milk be going down? I still leak over night, but I don't really leak during the day finally. I always question whether I am doing something wrong or not, when things change. Thank you so much for any help.

It's common for moms to stop leaking, not feel 'full' etc after the first few months. They are still making the same amount of milk - their breasts have just adjusted.

That being said, nursing only 3 times in 24 hours is not common for an exclusively breastfed 6 month old. This may be normal for your little guy, but to be sure, it it worth offering more often to see if he will nurse more. How are his diapers? Does he have 5 heavy wets in 24 hours? How is his weight gain? Is he gaining 3 oz a week? Has he started to eat solids?

Some mother/baby couples nurse much less often and baby is a very efficient nurser and grows well and pees well and Mama's milk supply stays high. And some babies need to be reminded to nurse more often or they do not grow as well and Mama's supply drops. It all depends on the baby/Mama.
