Which is common, position in the word makes a difference.
http://www.speech-language-therapy.com/Table3.htm interesting table for anyone curious about problems with their kid's pronunciations. (for instance, you'll notice that saying "dop" for "shop" which would be equivalent to "beep" for "sheep" might not go away until over four years old.) |
thanks for the link. very interesting!

Ah I remember those days when an initial s+consonant gave DD trouble so she'd just drop the S, lol. ("Mama do you want to 'mell this flower" "Yes, DD, it smells so nice." lol) But Daddy still drives a "trunk" at work. She can say truck now but says trunk on purpose b/c it makes me smile.
Anyway just wanted to ditto everyone else. And similarly, as your LO grows and starts talking more and more... the grammar will be very fun to decipher. DD is quite a big talker now, speaking in paragraphs and books instead of mere words and sentences.
And often times, she has a "thought" that she wants to get out, so she uses the limited vocabulary and grammar that she knows, and just makes her best effort to get out that "thought." Then I translate it and repeat it back to her w/ correct grammar, just to make sure I'm understanding the "thought" that she tried to convey to me, and she'll listen to me and then either confirm that's what she meant, or she'll say no and repeat herself so that I can try again.
