Went to get our taxes done yesterday totally scared. DH had done 4 months of 1099 work, and had unemployment for 5 other months. So we KNEW we'd be paying. We just felt it, accepted it, and went in there with that.
But what we didn't expect was tax breaks galore!!!!! We ended up with a refund of 2500 after fees!!
That means I can pay off the midwife (no worries if this was the right decision or not because we can now totally afford it)...and the debt of one CC!!! That means we can get back on budget before baby arrives in May!!!
So last night we were so happy and elated .....then the morning after phone call came from the tax guy. Sorry he started out saying, but I did a review and found out somethings were not done correctly on your return. We have gone to him over the years and trust him, so I knew if a mistake was made he'd find it out, but I had prayed that nothing was wrong all night long. So sadly I'm going to have to have you guys come back in to sign things he says. BUT then he said

so with this error your return is no longer 2500 but 4072 after FEES!!!!!!
Now all I can think about is all the debt to start paying, the possibility of a spring break two day trip with my boys, and well paying off DEBT!!!!
