homeopathy question

Hi-
One of my kids had a stomach bug a couple days ago (vomitting and diarrhea). And this morning, her 2-yr-old sibling woke up looking super nauseated, ill and having an uncharacteristically low appetite. He did not vomit but looked like he was going to. I thought he was catching the stomach bug too. So I gave him homeo remedies arsenicum and ipecuacum (sp?). He then fell asleep on my shoulder. He woke up a couple hrs later and has no sign of nausea or anything of the sort. He is full of energy and normal-acting.

Could the homeopathy have worked this magically? Or do you think he never had the bug in the first place?

yes absolutely it could have worked that well.

One time my youngest woke up with I thought was a violent choking spell. It was terrifying. As it went on, we realized they were horrible dry heaves. The fleshy parts of his eyes started bleeding a little because of the pressure of heaving. It is one of the most horrible experiences in my life. While he heaved on me, I pulled out my homeopathy kit and decided to try ars alb. Within 45 secs he had calmed down enough to nurse and he was asleep in 1.5 minutes. No exaggeration, no lie. Freaky. Throughout the night when he started to moan or mildly thrash in his sleep, I would pop in more ars alb and he would calm again.

Keep in mind that the remedy can "burn out" and you might need to use more again. Sometimes it is not the case, and sometimes you need to use another remedy. If your dc start to act uncomfortable again, I would try those remedies again.

Good for you for trying this approach. There is a great thread here about acute homeopathy. I love it and plan on adding more info today or tomorrow. If you want to explore more with us, that would be lovely.

Thanks, Mammo2sammo for sharing your experience too. Wow, I am still baffled as to how homeopathy worked so magically. DS definitely was getting the stomach flu and the remedies apparently stopped it. ANy other advice? I will definitely have those remedies on hand in case the last unaffected sibling shows symptoms. Oh - can I give it to the sibling with no symptoms (and myself - with no symptoms) as a preventive?

Homeopathy certainly is more like magic than anything else.
