blood in poop

My 4 month old has had some streaks of blood in his poops lately. I always thought this was dairy related but I cut out all dairy a couple of months ago and this is new within the last few days. So, I'm wondering if anybody else has any food suggestions that I might cut out or if this coud be another concern.
His poops have never really been yellow and grainy. They've been orange-y, watery and always mucousy and now add a few blood streaks here and there.
Any suggestions?

DD had blood in her poop until I cut out gluten. The ladies in the allergy forum sugested it, and as they are brillant, it worked.

Thanks. I'll give it a try, not quite as easy as cutting out dairy but if it helps it's worth it.
I'm guessing that might also help with the gassiness and projectile spit-ups.
