melatonin and babies - Page 3

EE and mito go together (at least it seems that way among those in that world, no research to bear that out) and regression goes with mito.
Your alternative doctor could order a metametrix urine test on her and find out a lot metabolics wise. You could do the baby too. But they are pricey w/out insurance reimbursement.
http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=734501 Here is my link on signs of metabolics so you can see if it fits.
EE you would need ped. GI to look for it (scope) and you need insurance for that for sure. Can hubby look into the state program (even if you'll be moving I'd get started and see where you get).

sbgrace thanks! I will contact our holistic doc and see if he could run that for us. I;m goign to email him and see what he says.

you all have been a great help! keep throwing encouragement my way I can use any I can get! I don't get a lot from friends. (who wants to be friends to a mom with two special needs kids? apparently not a lot of people *sigh*) my SIL was helping us for pay 3 days a week but she just decided it was too much for her to handle (funny since she really didn't even do much of anything anyhow, bt whatever. all she had to dow as some dishes and playing with the kids. no discipline or therapy or anything hard.). not even family wants to be around us anymore. it hurts a lot. it's not like we ask them for anything. she made such a hurtful remark about my 5 yr old to my 9 yr old this morning and i had to call her out. I hate today.

(sorry that part was a pity party, my heart is just really hurting right now from my SIL throwing that at us out of nowhere.)

You aren't the only one, so don't feel bad about that!!!! We all seem to get to experience the criticism, the "suggestions", the "well, I'm just trying to help..." (yeah, whatever!!!). It's tough, and I for one, am depressed a lot about all of this...and my child, despite his issues is doing pretty darn good....it still hurts.

I don't know if you are Christian (I don't really care...it's not for me that I'm asking...LOL), but my aunt and one of her daughters and family live in Hershey. I know they all go to a big church in the area. I don't think my cousin nursed her babies long (she had three and recovery from birth was tough for her I've heard), and I'm not sure they are as crunchy as you, but they are nice people. Have you had a chance to make friends yet at all?
You can pm me about that if you'd like!

Take care and hang in there! At least you are in an area w/lots of docs not too far away--Geisinger Hospital is in Danville, an hour or so north of you...and there are services in that area and closer to Harrisburg, and I'm sure even more down towards Philly.
