having trouble finding the info...

ds is 7.5yo, about 53#

family history is full of mental health issues. my ex dh was just dx (finally!) with schizophrenia. ds has many bipolar characteristics. i know that starting fish oil now can perhaps ameliorate later symptoms, but i cant find the info i had b4 on how much to give him, plus i think i recall reading that you should include vit e and c with the 3's.

thanks!

Dosage on fish oil for kids is not set. I've seen numbers ranging anywhere from 400mg a day to 1200mg a day.

It's really confusing.

This doctor recommends 400-500 per day: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/ar...-children.html

Most research studies with kids have used doses of 1000mg to 1200mg per day.

As the pp said, most research is on 1000mg/day. I would start with that.

My kids get whatever the serving recommendation is on the back of the Nordic Naturals Children's DHA bottle. They enjoy taking them and it was hard to find one that they did like.
