Montessori Equipment

Thread Starter
Another mom and I (we nanny share) would like to club together and buy some Montessori equipment. Things like the cylinders and beads that we can't approximate at home.

What suppliers have the mothers here had good experiences with. We'd like to get it right the first time.

You might also try this question over in the Montessori section; there's a thread of us Montessori homeschoolers.

I recently purchased from Montessori Outlet and was pretty happy with the quality. They aren't the most communicative about your order, but the materials themselves are quite nice.

I shop the sales at www.forsmallhands.com and I've been happy with them.

ETA: I've also been weirdly successful at finding Montessori tools at Ikea. Their small roasting pans with handles, combined with their apartment-size wood slatted utensil dish drainer make the perfect carrying tray for paper, paints, and brushes, with the brushes in the utensil drainer. It's also super easy to wash the brushes and let them dry in the drainer, since that's basically what it's for anyway. And their small glass cups are sturdy and cheap to replace -- much less expensive than a child-size glass cup at any Montessori supply company I've come across. Same size, same shape, nice solid weight.
