You ladies do realize that we will have gone through all the major chocolate giving holidays by the time we give birth?

For those of you experiencing snow storms:

He has to leave the house at 4 in the afternoon, then he'll get home at 3 in the morning--but sometimes they have mandatory overtime, so he won't get off of work right away. He could get home as late as 6 in the morning, and then he'll have to sleep for a little while before leaving for work again at 4...

It's an hour commute. I hope I don't wake up and give birth in the middle of the night! By the time I get in touch with him at the factory and he walks a mile to his car and drives the hour home he might not make it!!
Pepper, that sounds really rough. My DH works overnights (7pm to 7am) with an hour+ commute, but only 3 nights a week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). I can't imagine losing him to it every day! And then it takes another day to get used to being on a normal schedule, and then a day to sleep in preparation for going back to work.... if all you've got is a normal weekend, that's got to be terribly tough!

LOL! I love it!

DH does have weekends off, usually. Occasionally they schedule mandatory Saturdays, but they aren't doing anything extra right now because of all the recall stuff. (He works for Toyota.) I don't mind when he works on Saturdays though, it's a lot of extra money!

Me too. My mom pointed out that we want a homebirth anyway, and while that's true, we really don't want one unassisted. REALLY grateful to be 28wks not 38.

That could be part of it, but with the blizzard conditions we've got out there now, it's really dangerous for the plows to be out because a)it's REALLY hard to recover them if they go off the road and b)visibility sucks, and the last thing PennDOT needs on their hands is lawsuits from running drivers off the road or G-d forbid killing someone.

We live in farm country so we've got a bunch of local farmers driving their tractors all over town clearing paths and digging people out.

My sister said the same thing, that it was just terrifying to be on.

I'm sorry. I hope you guys can find a new groove. I know a lot of families that reset the whole family's body clocks so that everyone slept during the day and then were awake during the night. It works for them.

AFM: Let's see, what else?

Hate coconut in all forms. Can't stomach the stuff.

Just ate some Russell Stover chocolates from Christmas that I forgot my ILs sent. Fun discovery.

I think tomorrow I'm gonna make chocolate covered peanut butter eggs, 'cause I'm craving them.

I am officially at the same gestational age I was at when I went in to labor with DD3 for the first time, 28+6. She was born at 30+2, and given her outcome, it's pretty much when we breath a sigh of relief, since we "know" that age, so to speak. Obviously we're really hoping he waits until at least 36 weeks. I think we're fine, because he's REALLY high, and I'm having maybe one contraction a day.

Packing and cleaning here. Hopefully DH will be able to get together with our new landlord on Friday to pick up the keys to our temporary house and hand over the deposit check so we can start moving a few things in this weekend.

still sick from those pills...never taking those again
Infortunatly the reaction you seem to be having is very common with Ambien, but not talked about by doctors when it's given off course. There are cases where people have done things the day after taking Ambien and not remembered. It's also common to have car accidents and other accidents from just not knowing what is going on after taking it. It's not a sleep aid I would want to deal with. The levaquin should not cause any reactions similar to what you are describing as it's a very mild drug similar to benadryl that they have noticed helps with anxiety.

WOW there are some busy mamas this week! Good luck to you and Jennings, Ericka, lots of good thoughts coming your way!

No snow storms here (No.Cal) but my cats and other friends' have been acting nuts - perhaps an impending earthquake? Hope not!

I don't know how you guys deal with crazy blizzard conditions. I think it's like bed rest - in a really immature way, it sounds so relaxing to me to HAVE to be closed off from the world, or to HAVE to lay in bed all day. But mostly I am grateful to be able to get up and get out when I want, hope you are all bundled up with lots of supplies and heat, and can get some fun sledding/hot cocoa times after all of the snowing is over. I can barely remember what falling snow looks like anymore, it's been so long, but I remember it being lovely!

Lots of activity on this post, it's making me realize in yet another way how close we are all getting. I still look in the mirror going, "when on earth did THAT happen?!". I've gained about 45 pounds and am still only 32 weeks... all of my bras are getting stained with leaky colostrum (was really not wanting to start wearing nursing pads already?!), my left hip keeps almost seizing up when I walk, and my ears are better but still doing their stuffy winter routine. But I know I am having a relatively easy, healthy pregnancy, and feel so so lucky and grateful. My best wishes and thoughts of support going out to you all who are dealing with frustrating medical staff or interventions or health problems, and I want to say that I am SO grateful for all of the support and information I get on these boards! I absolutely do not know where I'd be without all of you rad, awesome mamas

Lots of prayers Ericka, Campbell, and Jennings!

AFM- we got our nb gift set from gdiapers today. We took the flushies to BRU and got store credit for them. Also the carseat my friend left for her sonhas expired. So I told her I can use an extra for him and she let me trade it in. We used the 25% off on a travel lite crib (mini pack 'm play). With the store credit, we paid $9 for it. We got some clothes for the babe from BRU make Once Upon a Child, too.

Tonight I stuffed the nb gdipes with preemie pfs and folded the clothes into a wicker basket. I can feel my anxiety lessening as I do more to prepare. As much as I want to believe I'll be pregnant until my edd (3/24), I'm thinking it isn't a bad idea to have things ready before then. Maybe its part of me learning to let go of trying to control everything. That's been a big theme in my life, lately...

Good luck, Ericka! Praying for a safe and strong delivery!!!! Cannot wait to hear an update!

My theory w/ the snow in Pittsburgh is this: Since the majority was dumped on Fri and Sat BUT they were still expecting more on Tues and Weds, they were only plowing and not salting. They figured let people muddle thru "only" three work days & then after we see what we end up w/ on Weds, we will then salt. I feel that I have been proven correctly as just this evening our road was salted for the first time. Major neighborhood roads in this city (including downtown) were not salted at all since last week. Now, magically, things are getting salted. I really think they did not want to waste any, but it was a huge drag trying to drive anywhere when busy roads had dangerous chunks of ice & snow on them.

Some neighbors down the street got their parking space stolen (we have all been holding ours w/ chairs), so they came up and stole ours! WTF??? Two of my neighbors, one of whom owns a snowplow, TG, helped me clear out a space for our car next to our house before dh got home from work. I think the work made the baby turn kind of transverse as she ended up laying v v low & heavy like a giant rock for a while after I was done.

Jess, in a lot of ways, being snowed in is okay b/c, yeah, you have to just sit around. BUT you end up worrying that your house will get damaged or that the electricity will go off or that you will run out of food! Thankfully, none of that happened to us so far, but we did have friends staying w/ us all weekend b/c they lost electricity. Four adults, two toddlers and one baby! We have def not gotten cabin fever yet b/c of the exciting weekend, lol!

As much as I would like to, I will NOT be sled riding. I am way to afraid of placental abruption to engage in anything where I might fall or get hurt

Another cheer-up photo: ds and daddy enjoying the snow day.

Hope Erica posts soon.
