I can totally relate to this - though our living situation is temporary until I find a FT position, then we will relocate to a place better situated between our jobs, and that's what holds me back. ((hugs))

Ericka those bruises are so scary! I hope today is the day they take some action.

Everyone else, I've been reading but I'm too scatter brained to respond to everyone.

DD just started crying that the dog peed in her room. Our dog was abused as a puppy before we rescued her, so sometimes if you startle her badly she will accidentally pee. I went in their with a rag to clean it up--thankfully we don't have carpet, just hardwood--and OMG. DD thought it was pee. But that's not pee.

Cannot. Stop. Dry. Heaving.

The dog exploded out the rear. With no warning, which is unlike her because she's never done her business in the house on purpose. She must have a belly ache.

The smell is so strong, our entire house smells like dog diarrhea. I keep gagging.

How am I going to clean it up without puking up my breakfast?

Not pregnant I would just clean it, wash my hands, air out the room, and forget it ever happened. But my gag reflex is so sensitive now. Just the smell from here is making me gag. I don't know what to do! DH won't be home until 5 or 6 tonight and I can't leave that to soak into the wood floor...

Would tying a rag over your mouth and nose help some? I think mentally it would help me to know that the poop germs aren't getting in me. Maybe put a few drops of some essential oil on the rag, first? Probably not your FAVORITE essential oil, though, because you definitely don't want to equate it with poop.

Maybe chicken and rice is on order for doggy's dinner tonight

P+H~ thanks. social activities are hard for me...i'm painfully shy and never seem to be good at conversation starting.

pepper~ i second EO on a rag over your nose. i made a rice hot pack yesterday (and then promptly burned it in the micro ) with lavender...i think i used to much! but it certainly made the house VERY smelly...in a good way!

erika~ it's time. the bleeding/bruises from the inside aren't a good thing! i'm glad you were able to keep him in another weekish though and now he's got the 3 lb status (though i read for our gest. age they should be 4 by now). i'm amazed at how the high risk OB's are treating your case! i have never seen an OB who doesn't yank a baby as soon as they can!

I cleaned yesterday...a lot. a ton. more done in one day than i've done in weeks prior. lol. not because of nesting though. i clean when i'm aggrevated so i did dishes 2x, folded laundry, washed my shoes, vacummed the house, swept and mopped the floors, made my rice hot pack, made laundry soap, cleaned up my desk area, and cleaned the bathroom. and i STILL had time to sit around and watch hours of tv. thankfully it doesn't feel like i over did it or anything...i'm as sore as i normally am the house smells like lavender (from the rice pack), pine sol and rose (from the laundry soap). lol

I'm lighting incense...two sticks and opening the windows even though it's like 20 degrees out. And I'm trying to pretend this isn't happening. It's like the consistency of a cow pile. ARGHHHHKHGGGGGG.

I have to stop hiding in the bedroom and go face it.

I had to call my mom to ask her what to do because I don't know how to get it off the floor. Always practical, she says to close my eyes and scoop it with a piece of cardboard, then tie it in a grocery bag and throw it out the door then go put it in the trash once I've recovered. If I can accomplish that, then I can mop the floor. My dog is a 60 pound black lab, so it's a lot of poo.

Not a good start to my day. I actually woke up feeling human today too, but now I just feel sick.

hoping I made the right move..

So that Dr. I saw last week, the one who knows me, well I called the office to see when he was working. He is at the office over in Portland mainly this week. I called that office and spoke to the nurse and she was so wonderful and understanding it put me into tears. I asked if he could call me...
I just need someone to listen to me and now I am grasping at straws. I said my Dr. was a good Dr., I just felt like he was gambling with my sons life, a gambling risk I don't want to take. I said Dr. was so understanding last week and told he had said that it would be this week feeling it is too risky...but that my Dr. came in and wants to push it as far as we can go, with my sons life at risk.
She said she would have the Dr. call me. She said he may even be able to call and talk to my Dr. today while I am there and maybe they can come up with a plan...
I HOPE I didn't step on my Dr.s toes and make him mad....I hope. I just need to know someone is as scared about this as I am...

Pepper- sorry about the dog poo explosion...sending you lots of luck cleaning that up..face mask maybe?

Ericka I'm prayin you get answers for you and Jennings today!

Dens- I've considered taping belly movements this time. They are so strong!

AFM- I am still dealing with morning sickness. The past two days have been bad. I can eat yogurt again, though, so maybe if some of it has been a lingering bug it will help. I'm already nauseous again, today. And dh is working a double so he'll come home at 4 and sleep until morning.

My anxiety is getting bad. I obsessed over budgets and finances when its bad. Thankfully, dh is great with talking me through the freakouts if I let him. My mom just announced a wedding date, too...I see a lot more anxiety in my future. Especially since I will have a less than one month old.

Ericka- I think that was the very best thing you could have done! Even if your dr does get mad, you'll have this other dr on your side. And if they can manage to talk and figure things out, then you'll know that you weren't just an afterthought, and that you've been given the time and attention you deserve. Especially since the other dr seems to actually have your best interest in mind.

It's done.

For future reference, cardboard box flaps work very, very well for dog diarrhea on hardwood.

Also, I am buying a box of rubber gloves next time I go to the store.

I covered my shirt with my nose and put two sticks of nag champa incense on the shelf right next to my face. I'm so glad that incense is strong. I'm going to be burning it all day.

I need to buy some more EO's and little pads to go in our diffuser! I loved them for my birth with DD. I'm glad you all reminded me of that, I would have forgotten. Clary Sage EO is supposed to bring on contractions--with DD every time I put it in the diffuser (starting at 37 weeks) I had contractions, so it really works...unless it was a coincidence. I'm going to try it again at 37 or 38 weeks this time. Couldn't hurt to get a head start on the dilating, right?

Justamama--I also have anxiety. It can be so debilitating and frustrating! Pregnancy also makes mine worse for some reason. I think it's the crazy hormones. The Hypnobabies stuff has really, REALLY helped me relax!

Ericka--I don't think you're stepping on any doctor toes! It reminds me of trying to get my medical records (only more serious of course) because they just kept passing me from one person to another and I could never get the same answer twice. I think it's best to be direct and try to only deal with one head doctor if you can. It's frustrating how they seem so...relaxed...over your pregnancy. It's your son's life!

Oh and I also recommend recording belly movements! It's fun! Here is one of mine, I think it's a knee or maybe a foot moving back and forth. The bump starts up high above my belly button then moves down below the belly button, it's kind of hard to capture on video. I was trying to get her to dance to some loud music, lol.

We got to the store.

It's just a big ole mess. DD2 was supposed to have therapy this afternoon, but we can't get there, so we're rescheduled for next week. I'm amazed we got a slot that soon, considering her therapist usually books herself so solidly that it takes a month to reschedule.

Oh well. Just hunker down and pack, I guess. Good times.

Pepper- glad you got through the cleanup. A month or so ago, my dh bought the wrong dog food. The 3 dogs share a kennel at night and the puppy threw up all. Over. The. Kennel. Thankfully my dad was at home and is like 6 blocks away. He came over and cleaned t all up for me.

I hadn't thought of hypnobabaies helping with anxiety. I'm not planning on using it for birth, but maybe a general meditative/hypnosis for relaxation cd could help. I know being alone all night since dh's schedule changed isn't helping.

Oh being alone at night is the worst! I'm dreading if my DH gets switched to night shift. Being alone at night sends me over the edge for some reason, even though we have two big dogs and know our neighbors well.

It was definitely chicken feed that made my dog sick. I won't give you details, but I could tell when I cleaned it up. I don't know why the stupid dogs always try to eat chicken feed whenever they can, all the grains go straight through them. UGH.

You're so lucky your dad came over and cleaned it up! I called my mom to beg her, lol, but she was at a doctor's appointment and then had to go back to work. For about 20 minutes I considered asking my new neighbor...he works at our local animal shelter and loves dogs, so I know it wouldn't bother him in the least. But then I decided I don't know him well enough to knock on the door and ask him to clean up my dog's liqui-poo.

Hahaha! I worked at vet offices for years, and dog vomit was the one thing that would make me dry heave. I had to have a friend clean up my own dog's puke one time.

Not that that's exactly the same as your situation... but no matter how much I cleaned it up, I never got over it.

Dog vomit can be pretty gross too. Sometimes my coonhound eats our other dogs poop, then drinks the murky duck pool water. One night he came inside and hoarked it all right across the floor in the middle of us eating supper. My DH was home. I ran away.

Dogs are just nasty creatures! My cats are messy sometimes, but their bodily functions are no where near as horrifying.

Oh god this conversation is making me want to hurl and making me thank the heavens we don't have a dog right now. Lately I can smell every poop the cat takes and that makes me want to vomit. I can not even begin to imagine dealing with dog poop or vomit. GROSS.

Erika: I think you did the right thing no matter what your dr. thinks. You need some good advice and some clear thinking. It sounds like this Dr. is the one to talk to. I hope you can get some answers soon.

Cute story: Ds was reading to me (he's a VERY delayed reader and struggles). The whole time he's reading, the blueberry is kicking and moving across my belly. Ds looks over and starts grinning (he loves alien belly) and says "Look the blueberry likes it when I read to him! Maybe I can read to him when he comes out." Made me smile as ds is normally very insecure and shy about his reading.

Yeah, my cat just hocks up hairballs and poops in the litter box.

My dog eats both of those things.

Okay, so I had a question about eating...but I think in light of today's conversation I'll just give it it's own thread. I can't in good conscience talk about food in this thread now.
I've tainted this week's thread. Sorry!

Why do dogs feel the need to eat stuff like that? GAG!! I get worried when my coonhound munches from the litter box because we use clumping litter...so far though it hasn't caused any issues.

And while we're on the subject, I'm going to switch to the rubbermaid tub for a litter box this week! I can't wait to see how it goes.

I switched to grain free cat food too. They're on 100% grain free food for the past few days (I stopped mixing it with their old food) and my fat cat has stopped barfing all the time!!!! He hasn't thrown up in at least a week, compared to the old one to three times daily. The only downside is their poop smells TERRIBLE. (It's not runny though.) I read bad smelling poop is normal for the first month or so as their bodies get rid of the grains and fully adjust and to just stick it out and it will improve. Woohoo, more dry heaving!

Oh no, I was planning on doing that next week! I guess I'll be forcing the kids to clean out the box EVERYTIME the cat poops! Have you noticed less poop?
