Just dropping in to announce that I had Norah Eve at 7:06 pm on
Thursday, February 4th at 40 weeks 5 days.
I haven't posted a lot but had just started to a couple of weeks ago because after thinking I would have the baby early I was starting to feel like I'd be pregnant forever!
I actually took castor oil that morning because we were due to get that 2-3 feet of snow on Friday and Saturday and I knew that the midwives wouldn't get here if I went into labor during that time (they live hours away), plus we're at the end of a long, treacherous driveway, so even if I had the baby unassisted, if there was an emergency we might not be able to get out. I hadn't wanted to do castor oil, but under the circumstances I think it was the right decision.
And boy did it work! I had a 1/2 hour labor at the most, and caught her myself while standing up in the bathroom with my husband and two kids looking on from the hallway. At which point my 5 year old said "oh, you had the baby!". It was so fast. She came out pink and screaming at 7 pounds, 10 ounces and 21 inches. She's super mellow, nursing well, and we just love her.
Congratulations to everyone else who's had a baby since I was last on here, and way to hold down the fort to all those who are still pregnant!
