First tooth without 'teething'?

Last night when I wiped down Katie's gums in the bath, I felt a tooth! She just grinned at me. Thing is, she hasn't seemed like she was teething. Sometimes we give her a teething toy to chew on, and she's been chewing on her fingers/fist lately, but she's been her normal happy self. I haven't even had her amber necklace on because I didn't think it was bothering her.

Has anyone had this experience? How has it gone with the rest of the teeth?

Yes, I do know that I've been increditibly lucky so far.

My DS has been like this so far. He does wear an amber necklace. He has 6 teeth so far and they have all been easy. He didn't even drool!

The last week or so I have noticed a bit of drool and he has been putting his hands in his mouth a lot and been a bit fussier. I'm not sure if he's teething or not, only time will tell! I hope his easy-teething continues though, but I imagine molars are probably hard no matter what.

Yup, that's how my son was too. One day (at 4mo) I stuck my finger in there and he had 2 teeth! He was a super easy teether the whole time.

I'd say you're darn lucky, I have teething and no tooth, so go figure.

On xmas morning, we saw a tooth in DS' mouth. It was a total surprise. He had been chewing on his hand, but not more than the previous 4-5 weeks...
Same with the second one

I found out my oldest had two teeth that had broke through when she bit my finger with them. No classic signs of teething at all. She continued to just get teeth w/o teething before hand. On the other hand my middle dd had teething symptoms from he**.

So far, we've been pretty lucky too. I can always tell she was teething in hindsight. Like once the tooth comes in, I'm like "Well, that's why you've been nursing a bajillion times a night!" But other than that, she's handled it pretty well. I hear the molars and sharper teeth are the ones that are harder to deal with. We don't have any of those yet.

My 9mo DS's 8 teeth have pretty much been non-events except for more waking at night. No fussing or crying, lots of drooling.
