Silly question- flushing the hose with bleach

Thread Starter
I have to flush my hose for the birth tub today, and I feel dumb not knowing how to do it. I'm assuming that I just pour some bleach in one end, hook it up to the hot water, and let it run, right? How much bleach do I use, and how long do I flush it for? Does it matter if it's powdered or liquid bleach? When I'm done, what do I do to make sure that it dries properly and doesn't get mildewy in the next couple of weeks?

All silly questions, I'm sure.

I wasn't sure about this and my midwive said to just buy a new hose. Instead of dealing with a germicide and rinsing and drying we just coughed up the money for a hose. Sorry no help--but am anxious to hear what others say.
