motherease one size

Can anyone out there tell me their experience with mother-ease one size diapers? I have a new little one coming in September (I know, I'm planning my stash early! ) and I need to replace my Kissaluvs fitted size ones. The elastic is totally shot and I really want a diaper that can contain runny bf poo and that the new baby can use coverless. I don't like the microfiber in the new Kissaluvs and I want something a bit more durable. There are lots of MEOS for sale on craigslist around here so if they look good I can either pick them up used or buy new knowing that I can easily resell later. Before I invest another $100 in diapers, though, I'd love some opinions!

while I love ME airflow covers, I've never liked the OS diapers. I had "wing drop" issue when I needed to fold down the front. (would gap at the legs, so very not good for containing anything). They were nice once I didn't need to fold down the front.

so far I'm just using prefolds for dd2, but I'm thinking of trying the ME fitted diaper.

I love the meos on my new little guy. Well, he's not so little now at 20 lbs, but I've been using it on him since about 10 lbs and it has fit well and contained messes well. The terrycloth fabric seems to grab the poo pretty well.

I liked prefolds or sized fitteds best at the beginning, though.

And I really like that with the meos it fits for so long. Like I could use it on my baby and my 3 year old (who is PT'ed now, though), so it was nice for the diaper bag because it fit them both.

Enjoy your pregnancy and picking baby stuff!

I had wing droop issues as well. In the end I just turned them inside out so it wasn't so bad. I found them to be very bulky too, which I didn't like. I also prefer prefolds or flats.

I bought a couple of these used for my ten month old and I love them! They fit really well, and hold everything in. We use them with either the air flow cover or the Super Whisper Wrap and I've been very happy.

I didn't start using them on him until my son was about 20 lb, and I could see how it may not fit well on smaller babies. It would be very bulky on a new baby. I expect it to be a good diaper though for the rest of the time he's in diapers!

I didn't find that they were a good fit on my newborn. Once he was a few months old they worked fine, though they were a little bulky. I liked the stay dry liners. I found they washed and dried well (we line dry most of the time).

I mainly used them for out an about, like a PP I had two in nappies so it was nice to be able to grab something that would fit both. Our usual nappies were terry flats and folding them while out was a bit of a pain.

I did like them when DD was just starting to potty train, she was so skinny we could fasten them quite loosely and pull them up and down.

I would buy them again if I could get them at a good price but I would want some other choices too.

There was a big thread on DiaperSwappers about this with lots of pictures. Now some folks did use the one-size on a newborn and it did look like a decent fit, but I'm not convinced that it would work on all babies at that stage. I'd probably go for the XS Sandy fitteds and when those are outgrown you will be all set for the one size. Or if you want half the XS fitteds and half prefolds to make it less expensive.

The Sandys are more absorbent than Kissaluvs I believe and they have elastic and all that good stuff. All the MotherEase diapers have a good reputation in terms of durability. Of course this is all theoretical as I haven't used them myself, but I've done a lot of research and they're a front-runner on my diaper list.

Thanks everyone! I have lots of prefolds -- they're my main diaper -- and some kissaluvs 0s for the beginning. These are mainly for when the baby's a bit bigger and can fight diaper changes. It's also nice to have something that will hold poo a bit better than a prefold. I like wool covers, but I hate cleaning poo off them.

Does anyone know how long it takes them to dry? We hang dry often and I don't want to wait 3 days for them to dry out.

I think the MEOS are not that thick, which is why you normally want to get the snap-in doublers for when baby is bigger. I would think that would mean the drying time is not too bad, hopefully?

I had no problems line drying them. I would hang them in the morning and they were dry by the time I came to take them in again in the evening. We're in the UK so not super hot or humid.

I did occasionally run them through the dryer to finish off and get them a bit softer though they were not bad straight from the line.

I've never successfully dried things indoors, stuff always ends up musty smelling before it's really dry.

I don't line dry much either, but in the dryer, my meos take about the same amount of time as my premium prefolds, or maybe a little less...

Hi, I am using the MEOS on my three week old newborn right now. Bear in mind she was over 10pounds when she was born! They fit great. they are a little bulky at the front but quite flat in the butt area so her nb clothes still fit her. The infamous nb poop explosions have all been well contained. I actually like the nice soft legs better than the elasticized ones and they are fitting well around her (chubby) thighs. They dry relatively quickly too, about the same as the xs sandys (the small size take longer). So far they are a great investment. As for the coverless, I don't know. We always use the covers.

Even line dried they stay nice and soft. If dry time is an issue go for the cotton instead of bamboo. We are really pleased with them and all the white dipes look great hanging out on the line. I can try to post a pic if you like!

I really like mine - I have the bamboo. They line dry OK - not the fastest, but tolerable. I like the leg binding on chubby thighs, and although dd was already 1 yr when we got ours, a friend tells me she really likes them on her new baby - starting at maybe 1 mo? (he got big fast though). If you can find them used I think they're a good fitted for the money.
