Braces while pregnant

I have had braces for almost year (to fix crowding/crossbite), anyhow, I am now about 3 months pregnant and I was just wondering if braces are safe while pregnant. I worry about the metal and glue they use. My ortho assures everything is safe but I have my own opionions.

Any other mamas who had braces that were pregnant?

If any one has any information I would appreciate it.

I had braces during one of my pregnancies and the beginning of another...never had any issues. I had them on for 2 years and 9 months. Got them when my second child was about a year and got them off shortly after I became pregnant with my fourth.
