I need encouragement! Just got a sewing machine...

and I watched the little DVD that came with it on how to do the bobbin and thread the needle and all that....

and I am SO confused...I haven't even attempted yet because i'm scared i'm going to do it wrong and break the sewing machine...I swear there is like 89 steps.

It is pretty sad that i'm 26 years old and do not know how to use a sewing machine

Oh and the box said that this was a good sewing machine for a "beginner" it is called the Singer-simple.

That can be confusing at first! But you can do it! Are there diagrams in the manual. Sometimes there are color coded threading pictures that might help.

I don't think you will break your machine if you try. Just take a deep breath and go for it!

Thanks! I have a problem with being a perfectionist and when I am learning something new I get all worried/frustrated that I won't do it right and then I never end up doing it at all. My dh said he'd watch the dvd along side me and help me if I get it mixed up (he is REALLY good with following technical steps). Wish me luck

Figuring out how to get the thread loaded is the most intimidating part. But once you get started you will really enjoy it! Have fun!

If all else fails, take it to your local Singer store (did you happen to buy it locally?) and see if you can get a quick tutorial on how to use it. When I bought my machine, an intro. class was provided at no extra charge. It was very helpful.
