He says he read the label and it was okay for 6 years old.... but after I told him I'd rather he not give any Nyquil he did it anyways- because it will help sleep better. I wish I had looked at the bottle right then, but I trusted that dh had read the label.
I looked at the label after they went up to brush teeth. It says age 12 and up and that it might cause excitability (especially in children). The dayquil does say age 6 and over.... so apparently he read the label on that a few weeks ago and didn't check it again tonight. And no, we didn't give Nyquill before (or Dayquill) it just came up because dh thinks the stuff is wonderful and mentioned to me he though Josh might be old enough for it. At that time I told him I thought the age for Nyquill was much higher and that it wasn't appropriate for young children. Apparently, he looked at the Dayquill bottle at some point and saw 6 yrs

I'm just annoyed because dh doesn't think it is even worth discussing his error. I just don't like that he wants to pass it all off as nothing (He says, "but I read the label and it said it was okay" but hello, you read the label of Dayquill which is NOT nyquill. I'd just expect he should say 'oh, sorry' or also 'Oh, I guess I should double check the label, next time'. Yes please.
Or is it really a big deal and I should be making a big deal of it??
Thankfully, Josh is not very sick (or I'd be freaking more) he just seems to have a stuffy nose and start of a cold and I think dh just wanted him to get a good nights sleep, but gee-- he just never listens. I've had to send him to the store for specific meds before or insist on calling the doctor for a suggestion and EVERY time the doctor has sided with me. Dh likes to take medicines, I don't. I actually have had some weird reaction to meds, too. So this is something that is always going to be an issue. But this means he should know if he's going to insist on some type of med he'd better be right that it is age appropriate and the dosage is appropriate.
I'm sure I'll be checking in on him tonight quite a bit. Because I can't help but worry a little. Uugh vent....
