So I'm not a green tea drinker but dh is a recent convert and I was thinking I'd like to get him some nice (at least nicer that whatever we pick up at the grocery store) green tea (or a gift/box set) for V-day but I have no idea where to start looking. If I google search I'm totally overwhelmed with choices so I was hoping you smart mommas could help me - what do you like? where do I find it? any other recommendations or things I should know?

I absolutely adore Genmaicha, which is a toasted green tea with brown rice in it. It's got a really earthy flavor. The first green tea I drank was Republic of Tea's Big Green Hojika, and that's really good, too. My DH loves jasmine, but personally I find that it hurts my stomach.
It might be cool to get him some sort of a sample thing, where he can try the different types.

My favorite is a black/green tea breakfast blend by stash teas.
Republic of Tea does make some really nice flavored green teas - I've had a very good apple-green tea, and dh likes one they make with sage in it alot. Yogi teas also makes a pretty nice green tea sampler box that dh here has liked too.
Some of our grocery stores have good selections, otherwise I'll pick up stuff at health food stores or world market (as they carry a lot of the republic of tea teas) which seem to have bigger selections. I've also noticed target carries a good amount of yogi teas lately, which is a favorite of ours too (and sometimes find stuff at big lots or tj maxx also - they've had some stonewall teas and zhena gypsy tea tins that are nice in our area).

My DH is quite the tea lover and last year I got him a "tea of the month" set from http://www.adagio.com/ as a gift (the green & oolong version). It's a lot of tea and I thought it was a good value, but make sure you have the space to store it.
They also have tea samplers of the different types of tea and various infuser sets that come with little sample tins also (look in the "gifts" section).
DH's favourite tea of the ones that he got is called green anji, but I think that is a very personal thing and it's hard to say what different people will like, which is why I'm suggesting the samplers. I highly recommend this company.
BTW, make sure you're not making green tea with boiling water, it's too hot and will scald it, often giving it a bitter flavour. Just wanted to mention it.
