Do you sing love songs to your DC? - Page 2

I love to sing In My Daughter's Eyes and In My Arms (Plumb), but Miracle, by Celine Dion, is my favorite:

You're my life's one Miracle,
Everything I've done that's good
And you break my heart with tenderness,
And I confess it's true
I never knew a love like this till you....

You're the reason I was born
Now I finally know for sure
And I'm overwhelmed with happiness
So blessed to hold you close
The one that I love most
With all the future has so much for you in store
Who could ever love you more?

The nearest thing to heaven,
You're my angel from above
Only God creates such perfect love

When you smile at me, I cry
And to save your life I'd die
With a romance that is pure at heart,
You are my dearest part
Whatever it requires,
I live for your desires
Forget my own, your needs will come before
Who could ever love you more?

Well there is nothing you could ever do,
To make me stop loving you
And every breath I take,
Is always for your sake
You'll sleep inside my dreams and know for sure
Who could ever love you more?

I was going to say, no I don't sing any love songs to my kids, but I guess I do: Skinnamarink, complete with hand motions. I guess I remembered the whole thing from watching the show as a little kid.

So happy together

I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
For all my life

Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it has to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
So happy together

I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
For all my life

Me too!!! My sister and I sang that song to each other growing up so it is super special to me.

I sang this to my boys when they were little. I never saw the show but we had several Sharon, Lois & Bram tapes. (Now I have some of their stuff on my ipod and my boys are grown and aren't even with me!) I also used to sing "A Bushel and A Peck." They won't let me sing to them now! "Mo-o-o-m, stop!"

I sing this but I sing

"I can't see me nursing nobody but you". My mom cracked up when she heard me sing that.

I also sing Jason Mraz's "I'm Your's". It's a love song, but for me it takes me back to when DD was first born. I remember looking at her sweet little face and thinking "I'm Your's" as in "Being your mama is the most important thing I have ever done and for the rest of my life I will be, first and foremost, your mama little baby"

I sing Rowan "River Lullaby" from The Prince of Egypt to get her to sleep/stop crying in the car. "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz also works; oddly enough, so do "River of Dreams" and "Copacabana".

I also sing her Billy Joel's lullaby, "Goodnight My Angel". And I make up songs for her all the time, often with intensely sophisticated lyrics such as "I love you, Yes yes I do, Moop di moo".

Sometimes I sing "All she wants to do is nurse" to the tune of All she wants to do is dance. Not really a love song, but that made me think of it!

It's not exactly a love song but:
Life is Beautiful by Vega 4

Life is beautiful
We love until we die

When you run into my arms,
We steal a perfect moment.
Let the monsters see you smile,
Let them see you smiling.

Do I hold you too tightly?
When will the hurt kick in?

Life is beautiful, but it's complicated.
We barely make it.
We don't need to understand,
There are miracles, miracles.

Yeah, life is beautiful.
Our hearts, they beat and break.

When you run away from harm,
Will you run back into my arms,
Like you did when you were young?
Will you come back to me?

I will hold you tightly
When the hurting kicks in.

Life is beautiful, but it's complicated,
we barely make it.
We don't need to understand,
There are miracles, miracles.

Stand where you are.
We let all these moments pass us by.

It's amazing where I'm standing,
There's a lot that we can give.
This is ours just for a moment.
There's a lot that we can give.

We like to dance to No One by Alicia Keyes. It is very fitting for us..."You and me together through the days and NIGHT. I don't worry cause everything's gonna be alright" and it is

I actually first heard it on the way to a prenatal exam. I was just so elated with the pregnancy the song resonated "No one can get in the way of what I'm feeling"

Oh I think I am going to cry.
One of the songs I used to sing when DS was little and tiny was:

Be my Baby
The night we met I knew I needed you so
and if I had the chance I'd never let you go.
So won't you say you love me,
I'll make you so proud of me.
We'll make 'em turn their heads every place we go.

So won't you, please, BE MY BE MY BABY
be my little. baby MY ONE AND ONLY BABY
Say you'll be my darlin', BE MY BE MY BABY
be my baby now. MY ONE AND ONLY BABY
Wha-oh-oh-oh.

I'll make you happy, baby, just wait and see.
For every kiss you give me I'll give you three.
Oh, since the day I saw you
I have been waiting for you.
You know I will adore you 'til eternity.

So won't you, please, BE MY BE MY BABY
be my little. baby MY ONE AND ONLY BABY
Say you'll be my darlin', BE MY BE MY BABY
be my baby now. MY ONE AND ONLY BABY
Wha-oh-oh-oh.

So come on and, please, BE MY BE MY BABY
be my little. baby MY ONE AND ONLY BABY
Say you'll be my darlin', BE MY BE MY BABY
be my baby now. MY ONE AND ONLY BABY
Wha-oh-oh-oh.

BE MY BE MY BABY Be my little baby.
MY ONE AND ONLY BABY Oh,
BE MY BE MY BABY oh,
MY ONE AND ONLY BABY wha-oh-oh-oh-oh.
(repeat & fade
