how is your cycle since you had your little one???

not to be too personal but how was your period after you had your babies? did you have one at all or did it skip a month or two, was it regular or just spotting or what?

with ben it came every other month until he was six months old and then it came every month, he was eating babyfood by 5 months.

with kahlan, istarted working at 3 weeks postpartum so i was pumping regularly during that time, and she still breastfed a lot. I had i think 6 weeks of heavy and then light and then spotting and then got a period and when she was three months old i got pregnant but miscarried and didn't have a period again until she was 8 1/2 months old and it was very irregular.

now i i am calling my last period the 5-7th-ish of january. my pp bleeding had really just stopped no spotting for about a week and a half and then i started spotting again and then some light bleeding. on the 5th of this month i had some ( sorry this is probably tmi) clear "stuff" with streaks of blood in it/ somewhat pinkish tinged. on and off, umm.... more noticeable since having dtd with tarl. but not really even enough to warrant a panty liner....

i know i ovulated this cycle b/c my left ovary was hurting like it normally does when i ovulate, around the 20th of last month.

I don't think there is any such thing on this board as TMI after all we've been through together!!

I'm 5 weeks pp as of yesterday and my pp bleeding stopped a little less than 2weeks ago. (So my pp bleeding lasted about 3 1/2 weeks, which was awesome for me!! I've never had it stop so quickly!) I didn't resume a normal period with my first two pregnancies until a few months (2 or 3, I think) after my pp bleeding stopped. When it did resume it was a normal period, not light or spotty. When I had DD I had bleeding problems, though, and my pp bleeding lasted almost 6 months.

That said, my bleeding stopped about 2 weeks ago and yesterday and today I've had thick stringy EW cervical mucous. That is almost always a sign of ovulation for me but I would be SO surprised if I ovulated so soon after my bleeding stopped! With my first pregnancy I didn't start having a regular cycle again for a long time and didn't get pg with DD until 12 months, despite trying for that whole year.

I bleed PP for a good 5 weeks. I'm almost 9 weeks now and no sign of AF. I better not get my period after all this nursing and all that PP bleeding.

Not to scare you, but umm, could you possibly be pregnant? I usually only get clear cervical fluid with streaks of blood/pinkish tinged on and off when I'm pregnant.

With DS1, I stopped bleeding 2 weeks PP. Then I had spotting around 12 weeks. Exactly 4 weeks later at 16 weeks, I got my first AF PP. It came regularly every 28 days after. After I had DD, I stopped bleeding at 2 weeks PP again. Got AF back at 7 weeks on the dot and it came regularly again every 28-30 days after. This time around I finally stopped bleeding at 5 weeks PP. No spotting or AF yet. I will be 10 weeks tomorrow. I'm ecologically BFing again. Last time was really unfair. I really hope to go a few months without seeing AF.

I noticed tell-tale signs of ovulation yesterday too! (EWCM, cramping). I only stopped bleeding a week ago! I'm NOT ready for my period!

My AF came back 5.5 months after dd was born and I thought that was early!

With my first, I occasionally pumped & left him with a bottle. I had my first PP period when he was almost 8 months old, and they were wonky for a while -- the first was 60 days, and then 18, and then 50, and on like that for maybe 5 cycles.

With the other kids, we did no bottles (because I'm terribly lazy) and (after some food sensitivity with my oldest) delayed solids until almost a year, and I was tandem nursing. I had my cycles back at 11, 12, and 14 months with them. They were a bit on the long side at first, around 40 days, and then in a few cycles it was back to normal for me.

I started using one of those fertility microscopes after kid #4 was born. I just dug it out and started using it again, and I keep having the ferning pattern that indicated fertility. IIRC, I kept going back and forth between not fertile, transitioning, fertile, and back again when I was nursing #4, without ovulating -- hopefully it's the same this time.

I'm 2.5 months/10 weeks postpartum right now. My bleeding only lasted about 2 weeks with the last week being more spotting than anything (with an occassional gush if I worked too hard). My bleeding overall was super light actually. This was the first time I've stayed in bed after a birth though so I think that's what did it. That first week I really only moved to pee.

No signs of anything over here. With my other two nothing came til 13 months both times and I wasn't even ovulating til my thirdish cycle. I am very paranoid though. I will be so mad if things come back sooner! She will nurse at night but not very often. I'm mostly just a body pillow for her at night. We don't use bottles or pacifiers and I am a delayed solids type of gal. When my cycles do finally come back they are long and anovulatory. They do eventually start to shorten out and once they get to the right length my ovulation date/luetal phase start reworking themselves. Generally by 18 months (3 or 4 cycles) things are where they should be. Which is why I've gotten knocked up twice now at that point.

BTW, if you ovulated on January 20th. You should have had AF back between February 3-5.

both boys are/were BFE on demand.

with DS1 i didn't get my period back until he was 9months which was the same month i introduced solids. Once they came back it was every months as per normal for me.

this time (ds2 is almost 2 months) i had normal PP bleeding and i'm still a little more.... liquidy then normal but no period as of yet...

Because we were just starting to try (we had unprotected sex once), I don't know much about my cycle except that I am like clockwork. I do know that I get extra horny around ovulation. The fact that I feel any horniness penetrating this hormone induced asexuality of PP and bFing is not a good sign for me...

It doesn't seem fair at all since I am EBF with no pacifiers or bottle and she's nursing every 2-3 hours at night and more during the day. But there's a history of that in my family, so I guess I won't be surprised if AF makes an appearance.

I bled for just over 4 weeks. It was much heavier for the last few days, so I was worried that I was already getting my first period (UGH, I thought), but seven weeks later and it hasn't shown up, so I think it was just the last gasp of the PP bleeding. It wanted to keep me on my toes, because, you know, I didn't have enough to deal with at the time.

yep, had my final visit/pap today and my mw said I'm probably ovulating.

So not fair, I EBF every 2 hrs at least day and night. I got my AF when dd was 5.5 months old and I thought that was early. My MW said some women just get their cycles back early.

UGH! It just occured to me that I was SUPER "in the mood" when we DTD on Saturday (AND I was very well lubricated AND I was able to climax 3 times...)! It was the first time I've even felt a bit sexual in the past 5 weeks and I'm always incredibly horny when I'm ovulating. Combine that with EWCM that afternoon and the next day and you get a big "Oh, No!" from me!! We didn't use protection because I, of course, figured we were safe this early on.

I read this thread yesterday and thought it was crazy. Then I started spotting last night. Seriously, I just stopped bleeding a week and a half ago. So.Not.Cool.

On the plus side, this means I could "accidentally" get pg before dh's snip. that would be pretty great....you know if we ever have enough energy to dtd...

Yea, unusal horniness is often a good sign of fertility. Although if you have a high sex drive normally, it may not mean much. It's so not fair to get AF back this early when you EBF on demand around the clock.

Many women experience a hormonal bleed around 7 weeks not related to AF returning.

Do you know anything more about this? I have never heard of it! But sure enough, I had three days of spotting in my 7th week postpartum. It wasn't period-like compared to my usual, but it was blood.

I don't know of any research to back this, but I do know that many moms experience a return in bleeding a few weeks after they believe PP bleeding has stopped. Some experience only spotting while others have heavy flow. Most of the time this occurs between 6-9 weeks PP. I have been told that it is normal for PP bleeding to come and go for up to 12 weeks post partum.

Evinmom, I hope that's what I'm experiencing.

I had what I think is AF return at exactly 7 weeks PP. I hadnt had anything for 2 weeks and then fresh blood. Lasted 5 days.

At exactly 9 weeks, I had fresh blood again. Bled 5 days.

At exactly 11 weeks, same frigging thing.

I nurse on demand (every 1.5 hrs is the average for the first 6 weeks, 2-2.5 hrs since), through the night, co sleep (I am DD's pillow/bed lol).

It's NOT fair.
