You know honestly what ever her reason..It really doesnt matter..I know her hubby is your hubbys VP..& you must keep from tearing her a new one ..but that doesnt mean you must try and stay friends with her..If she is treating you like this and especially your child...Your family in general deserve better...She isnt worth you being upset over...like they say plenty of fish in the sea thats not just for men thats for friends too

I am sorry this happened to you but it is fairly common. It happened to me as well. My dd's best friend stopped being her friend shortly after we made the decision. The mother and I had been friendly but my dd could no longer be of social value to hers and she put an end to the friendship. The mother always had polite excuses for not getting together and when I saw the writing on the wall I tried to dissuade dd from calling. After a few of her phone calls were not returned dd stopped trying. She was very sad about it for awhile but then new friends came along to fill the void.
