Has anyone moved an 8 month old to crib?

My DD will be 8 months old next week. I am cosleeping with her and DH is sleeping in the spare room b/c our queen bed is not big enough for all of us. I only planned to cosleep until 3 months old, then 6 months...I tried to move her into her crib by nursing to sleep first then putting her in and even let her CIO once (which I will not do again). I'm just really starting to wonder if it is even POSSIBLE to move a cosleeping baby to their crib without CIO. Has ANYONE done this? I can't keep going on like this- she is waking around 5-6 times per night, I am cranky, she's not always well rested and my husband (who is SO supportive) would like to one day come back to our bed....Is there any hope????

ds turns 8 mo tomorrow and we moved him to his crib a few weeks ago. he just wasn't sleeping well in our bed or his pnp in our room anymore. i started putting him down in his crib for daytime naps to help ease him into it. we don't do cio, and he's done pretty good so far in his crib. he still gets up every 2 hours to nurse for maybe 10 min and then goes back to sleep. that's far better than the every hour or more that he was getting up before we moved him. he seems more well rested now. i just changed the bedtime routine to nursing and rocking in his rocking chair beside his crib, along with singing to him if he's having a hard time settling.
