I'm not sure that aesthetics are the only thing behind your husband's feelings. It can be quite a thing for men to come to terms with when we confront the fact that our most sensitive and pleasurable organ has been surgically tampered with. I know that with all the arguing my father and I had over the issue that my dad was at least in part trying to justify the fact that he was circumcised and had me circumcised as well. Presumably for medically justifiable reasons. To debunk those justifications means that there was no good reason for it to have been done. Which can bring up a whole bunch of other stuff men don't really want to talk about. Sure sex can feel really awesome ... but are we missing out on something? So don't bring it up but give your DH a little unstated understanding there.
As for what to say, I think most of the suggestions to point have been pretty good. What I primarily would attempt to NOT do is make a big deal of the dialog in the first place.
