My 16 month old has really large lumps in her neck that keep growing. We took her to the emergency room and the doctor said this happens when they are fighting off infection, but she still doesnt show any signs of having an infection. my husband thinks it could be rubella, bc shes un-vaxed, but he always thinks the very worst and scares the crap out of me everytime shes sick at all. Anyone have any knowledge regarding this?

Often a child has been exposed to an infection, even something as simple as a cold, and they're resisting it, and thus not showing any symptoms, but the nodes still swell. It's part of the immune response, and means your baby is doing a very successful job protecting herself from infection. No worries. FWIW, too, the swelling can persist for a long time, and it's still okay.
