Do you ever put your baby down? - Page 2

It depends on the day and DD's mood (she's 7 weeks). She naps really well (3 hour naps) in her co-sleeper in the living room, so she'll usually snooze on me for an hour or so and then I'll move her into the co-sleeper. We bed share at night, so she gets a lot of mama contact while sleeping.

She hates her bouncy seat, so she's held for most of her waking time (she does like her activity mat, so we'll play with her on the floor for a bit). She's a pretty wiggly baby and sometimes objects to being worn--she likes to kick her feet and wave her arms around.

I think it's all about meeting your individual baby's needs. While I wouldn't put her down if she wanted to be held, I also don't think you need to hold your baby 24/7 to be attached.

Ds1 was very very rarely put down. He needed to be held constantly. I always joked that he demanded only the finest of parenting lol. He literally was in arms or otherwise touching me or someone else 23 hours a day.

Ds2, doesn't need to be held as much. Since he was about 3ish mos, he would actually fuss to be put down (or at least he stopped fussing when he was put down). Plus, I needed to put him down to tend to ds1's needs. He gets held when he wants held (or if I want to hold him and he doesn't protest).

Both ways are fine, Imo. Whatever works for you and your babe
