Stage 2 of PLing--When do they learn to moderate it?

The switch has flipped and DD is hardcore potty learning now--it is on her agenda and there is no stopping her.

So I am left with the question of when do kids kind of learn to moderate it? As in, going potty before we go to the store? And learning to go before it's an emergency?

Right now we are still in the 'when I say I gotta go, I mean right now this very second' phase.

it lasted a week or two with dd before she started to understand and use her words. it just takes practice and repetition. there will be accidents, but she did start to understand fairly quickly.

Thanks momma. We've been at this for 5 or 6 months now and I wasn't sure if I was in for another 5 or 6.
