we all know that babies do things on their own time, right?

i'm just curious what that time is looking like.......

Loki was rolling both ways by 4 months, along with scooting (arms getting stuck)... crawling at 5 months... and going fast anywhere desired now at 6 months.

He's a really active guy! Who also won't be still long enough to sit up. So at the moment that's the milestone we're waiting on.

what a great and interesting thread/poll - Thanks for doing this!

babies are not allowed to crawl between 7 and 8 months on your poll. So I picked 8-10

Rolling at 3.5 months
Sitting up at 5 months
Crawling at 5.5 months, mastered at 6

She's almost 7 months and we're cruising, but no walking yet.

DS1- sitting up at 5 months, crawling at 7 months, and walking at 11 months. He really didn't roll much until after he started crawling.

As for rolling, she was rolling back-to-belly at about 3 months, but didn't roll belly-to-back until like 6 months, pretty late.

She was sitting up by herself by about 5 months.

She army-crawled at 6-7 months, and did that for a long time (and was FAST at it). Didn't fully go to cross-crawling until 9 months.

She's not walking yet at about nearly 10 months, but is "cruising" on furniture. I expect she'll be walking by around 12 months.

So, some things she's been a bit early, on some a bit late. I'm not too fussed about gross motor skills, though, since she came a month early and supposedly babies that come early tend to lag behind on gross motor skills-- she's had a steady progression so I haven't had any reason to worry about anything.

She has been a very, very talky baby from a pretty early age, and always babbled and laughed a LOT. And from the women I've talked to with babies around my age, it tends to sometimes be a trade-off-- talky babies sometimes don't do the gross motor skills until average or a little later, babies with early motor skills don't babble as much.

they're allowed to do whatever they want! it's kinda my point

i guess i meant it as 5th-7th month, then 8th-10th month. if they crawled b/n 7 and 8 mo, that would be in their 7th month, ykwim.
