Pubic discomfort

Hey mama's, Just wondering about this feeling in my pubic area.

Tonight I started to feel a little achey in my pubic area, checked it out in there and my cervix is high and closed but there is definately something in there putting pressure on my cervix as it feels lower. I'm thinking a little head may have found its way in there and its causing the discomfort. I'm 28 weeks tomorrow and this is baby #2 for me. I'm way more aware of things this time around and I find it so fascinating. Baby has been flipping around so much that I'm a little surprised.. anyone remember getting this sensation?? I dont have any concerns just wondering and even a little excited over this discovery!!!

I'm loving every moment of this pregnancy and doing my own prenatals and really listening and trusting my body..what a joyful and beautiful experience to have complete responsibility. Guess I just need to share my joy!!

I dealt with PSD (Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction) in my last pregnancy. It was definitely caused by the type of work I was doing. I was doing a lot of patient transportation at the hospital I previously worked at. That is certainly not the type of work a pregnant person should be doing! I am hoping the PSD doesn't return this time around.

Here is some info about it:

Take it easy mama!

No clue, but I am a week behind you, and I have had tons of pelvic pressure the last couple of days. I can hardly run to Walmart and Sam's club and get groceries w/o feeling like I am going to pop out a 10lb bowling ball.

I checked myself a few days ago, and standing up I can easily reach my cervix and cervical opening. I measured how long my external cervix was on my finger and then compared it to a ruler, and it is just a smidge longer than 1 cm. And I think I am dilated to at least a 1 or 2. I mainly checked because I have had bouts of timeable braxton hicks contractions and a few times it has lasted for several hours. (I think I remember with my last one or two babies, that I was at least twice that much before going into labor).

I am not totally UC/UP. I am getting shadow care with an OB, as I am VBAC'ing and we have a somewhat hostile climate. But I am monitoring things on my own as I do plan on birthing at home, and we don't have a midwife or anything else like that right now.

Well the discomfort was gone by the next morning but I do get moments where I feel pressure and even twinges down there..especially if I'm working hard around the house!! I get lots of braxton hicks and after a good bout of them I will check myself and can totally reach my cervix and it feels all squishy in there..but then they calm down and it goes hard and high again. I'm closed tho so not too worried. I would get an hour long bout of braxton hicks every night with my daughter for an hour and they would come every 5 min..just how my body works I spose!

I'm excited to be so in tune and being 200% informed and allow this pregnancy and birth to unfold unhindered. I can't wait to read your birth story!!

Try wearing different shoes. I wore these shoes for 3 days, and had the most horrific pubic pain at the end of the day. I wore low tennis like shoes, and haven't got the pain again thankfully.
