Summer knitting?

What are you planning to knit this summer? I need ideas and inspiration. Last summer it was wool shorts for my little guy, but he's all about the potty now and won't wear wool anymore.

One of these days I'm going to knit this: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/libr...d-shirt-unisex

This spring/summer I plan on building my sock collection, following some shortie/longie patterns but using linen or cotton and soakers for my nephew/niece coming in August.

I am going to be stocling up on winter stuff for a craft fair. SO I will be knitting socks and mittens all summer

I live in the Southern Hemesphere, so my winter is your summer. I'm planning on knitting some throw blankets and gloves. Perhaps some small pillows. It's too hot here in the summer to knit anything that has to sit on my lap or wool. I'm also hoping to make some toe socks for a friend who doesn't want to give up her flip flops for winter.

It is very hard for me to even think that it will ever be summer after this winter that just won't seem to ever end. We have had more snow this winter than in previous years combined......

Lace knitting. I WILL knit myself a lace shawl. And a lace scarf for my sister. And baby socks for my sister's new baby.

I plan to spiff up the house with new bathmats, kitchen towels and washcloths. Make some baby items for expecting folk. Then start the holiday stuff. Which I'm toning down from last year. Phew.

Those animal covers in KnitPicks! Too cute!

summer crochet? can I join..... Im slowly working my way though way too much yarn here.... Summer is when I look long and hard at the holidays and what I think I can realistically get done.

I tend to crochet up blankets in varied sizes as well as potholders and dishrags... ya boring but nice and square LOL....

I can't knit unless its on my 'knifty knitter' then I can do hats and scarves.

I have way too much 'fun fur' so I see lots of edging on these blankets in the future...

That is my summer crochet plan....

cotton kerchiefs
hotmitts & hotpads for the kitchen
I'd like to try a felted rug
and as always~ felted bowls! I'd like to make a HUGE one to hold my yarn next to the couch.
Maybe some little felted zippered bags
and some crocheted veggies

I also want to learn to crochet some cotton dish towels. I will have to get my mom to teach me how.

I do a lot of sock knitting in the summertime. Lightweight scarves are nice to work on, too. One summer I worked on an afghan that was made one 12" square at a time and then sewed them together in the fall.
