Quick! What's good on burns???

You mamas are so knowledgable about natural remedies for things. I burnt my arm taking something out of the oven a few minutes ago. It's not horrible, but the pan took a little skin with it and it's a bit swollen. Luckily it's a fairly small spot, but it hurts nevertheless.

I did put it under cold water, but with 2 LO's, I can't keep it there for long periods...

Any quick, easy, "on-hand" tricks????

Put raw honey on it and cover with gauze. If you don't have raw honey handy, you can put butter on it or aloe vera. Also a diluted vinegar compress will ease the pain

Don't put butter on it! That holds in the heat.
Cold water is best. Or even a bag of frozen peas if you can't stand over by the sink. Just don't get yourself frostbite.

Butter: no, but honey or aloe yes. I'd go for the aloe first. And if I were you, I would also make sure the burned area was cleaned well before putting anything else on it.

Aloe! If you don't have an aloe plant, some store bought green or blue aloe for sunburns will work until you can get one. Crack open the aloe leaf and squeeze the juice on the burn, at least 2-3 times a day. It will heal and disappear!

Emu oil is good, but probably not something you have around the house for immediate use. I bought some when my dd had a bad burn. Should have it at local health food store.

Emu Oil is magical on burns no matter when you put it on. It will heal the wound and scar like you can't believe.

lavender oil! if you're not pregnant that is.

second for lavender oil. i once grabbed the handle of a cast iron skillet that was in the oven and doused asap it in lavender. I thought for sure it was going to have an ugly blister, but I had no blister, and it healed really quickly.

Thanks, mamas! I have an aloe plant, so I'll probably go with that.

This might sound crazy but regular old yellow mustard works, been using it for years.
