WAH & my 6.5 mo old . . .

Hi, everyone -

I work at home about 3 days per week. Sometimes part of 1 or 2 days are on-site elsewhere. DH is here w/our older 2 part of the time, too - but there's usually about 1 day a week where they are elsewhere (grandma's ) & I'm trying to work w/DD.

DD is 6.5 mo and I'm starting to have a hard time keeping her occupied while I work. She's sitting well, can roll & scoot but no crawling or pulling up yet.

What can I give her to do? I need fresh ideas!

Here are some ideas I used:

An exersaucer or jumper - that got me a solid 30-45 min once or twice a day.
A toy cell phone so she can copy you.
Colorful wooden blocks - I build towers and she knocks them down, chews on the pieces.
A stacking toy.
A felt bucket we happened to have filled with smaller toys (like teethers, play keys, etc. She enjoyed taking the toys out and exploring each one.
A small bowl of water she can splash her hands in (like the Graduates food bowls)
Rotating her toys so there was always something 'new'.

Once she started crawling really well (just in the past few weeks), and pulling up, it got a bit easier. She's thrilled to just explore the room we're in. I'm sure it will be a whole new game when she realizes she can leave the room .
