Snap cover that you can just a lay a prefold into?

I've always used fitteds with hand knit wool longies and soakers or Aristocrats. I love that system. However, after my third child I "loaned" ALL of my newborn fitteds (Kissaluvs size 0's) to a neighbor and I know I am never going to see them again.

I'm now pregnant with my 4th (and final!) baby and don't really want to drop a load of cash on newborn diapers. We are seriously considering using a diaper service the first 3 months which means prefolds. I know all about folding prefolds and using snappis but I was wondering if there is a great SNAP cover (We despise velcro!) that works for just laying the prefold into without using the snappi. I would prefer it to be wool but can live with PUL.

We practice EC in conjunction with using cloth diapers and so we need to be able to get stuff on and off quickly!

So, a newborn sized cover that snaps that you can lay prefolds into that doesn't let poop accidents explode! Does it exist? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Warmly,
Lynn

If you do it with wool, you're going to have to have an awful lot of it, since your covers will have to be washed after every poo and wool takes so long to dry.

Little Beetles wool wraps have snaps - you can get sized or OS.

Try theECstore, they've got a variant of their "simply cover" with side snaps.

Yeah, wool would get poop on and need machine washing.

My favorite for at-home ECing with a tiny tiny is a origami folded flat tied at the waist. Then the part between the legs can just flip up and down easy-peasy. Not so hot for out and about though because it isn't waterproof at all and requires a pantless baby.

Imse Vimse softwrap with snaps. Best cover ever. Gussets, very adjustable, good for skinny thighs. Have you looked on www.greenmountaindiapers.com? There are pictures of babies wearing many different wraps so you can see how they fit.

How about the Bummis Super Snap, Proraps, or Mommy's Touch covers? Mother Ease air flow covers? Or the Flip - I think that's designed to use this way, right? Not sure how they fit on newborns though. I think Happy Heinys has snap wool covers, Swaddlebees, and Little Beetles as already mentioned. Hmm, what else, how about fleece? I think Sugar Peas has a snap one.
