I have a corner changing table, and dresser next to it. I keep dry wipes (a mix of baby washcloths and things like thirsties fab wipes) in a pile on the changing table. and I have prince lionheart cloth wipe warmer that I keep on the dresser right next to it. I fold the wipes in half, stack em in the warmer, then pour solution over them. I keep my wipe solution in a gallon milk jug which sits right next to the warmer on an old prefold to catch any drips. I refil the wipe warmer and wipes and solution as needed.
as for the wipe solution, I use mostly water, with a squirt of baby wash (burts bees) and a few drops of tea tree oil to kill germs and prevent mold. I just put these ingredients into the gallon jug when Im refilling it with hot water.
I use the dry wipes to dab him dry after wiping him if hes still particularly wet from the wipes. I also use the dry wipes to keep his private parts covered in the middle of changing. as long as I keep him covered, I never get peed on. but before I figured that out I used to get peed on all the time.
other people add lavender oil or aloe vera to theirs. The wipe warmer actually came with different wipe solution recipes, but really I dont think any of it is all that much different from just water.
I do appreciate having the wipes warm.. my baby used to get very upset when I would shock him with the cold wipes, and now its no big deal. I also feel that the wipe warmer method is more convenient than the spray bottle method, because they are warm, ready and waiting when its time to change my squirmy baby.
when traveling, I just throw some wet wipes in a ziploc bag or reuse an old plastic wipe container.but, maybe having a spray bottle and just wetting the wipes as needed would be better idea for traveling, since sometimes I really DO forget the wet wipes are in there and they get funky.
