Thanks for the link, I knew I had seen this somewhere & was looking for the link to share with my ICAN groups!

The thing that struck me about this article is this:

"Although there is a measurable maternal morbidity associated with delivery for a woman with a history of three or more prior caesareans, it does not differ significantly by mode of delivery. Risks associated with multiple caesareans are several, including surgical morbidity and abnormal placentation in future pregnancies."

SO, doctors ought to be doing more to avoid the first, second and third c-section so that one is not facing a VBA3C, right?

I honestly doubt that doctors have a clue about long-term morbidity from multiple c-sections, because they work with definitions that are too narrow. They talk about infection, hysterectomy, blood loss, placental issues in subsequent pregnancies and a very few other things. They leave a lot out.

Plus, they have the problem (and I don't think they realize that they do) of people like me. I have long-term nerve damage, dating my third c-section in 2005. I've never talked to my doctor about it. I probably never will. I'll just live with it...and it will never make it into any study ever done. I really doubt I'm alone - not necessarily with respect to the kind of damage, but in the hesitancy/refusal to talk to a doctor about it.

Thanks for the link. I'm in the process of compiling some articles for a notebook to share with family members who aren't totally on board with my VBA3C and to include with my "consent" form for my VBA3C (especially since I'm refusing to sign part of it).

is it possible to check the scar before pregnancy?

i had two cs. after that i was pregant for 14 weeks. i was so scared to have cs again that i've missed
now i'm thinkig about next baby, but i don't want a surgery. is it possible to check the scar before the pregnancy? now this is my greatest fear - that the scar will be to thin... i didn't like the gyn who did the second surgery, i'm not sure she did it well (maybe it's stupid) she said i should finish my next pregnancy in 38th week - but the only reason was "because of the situation")
both cs were caused by hospital and i don't belive them anymore

[forgive me my english ]
