DH enjoys a cup of tea daily. Right now he's using Lipton's but is interested in a better quality, loose leaf alternative. Any recommendations?

oh my gosh, where to begin???
does he prefer black, green, oolong, herbal, rooibos?
does he like flavors (fruity, spicy, etc)?
is there a tea shop nearby? he can sniff the varieties and taste a few to see what grabs him
it's also important to brew the leaves properly; each tea has its own requirements for time, temp, quantity, etc.
enjoy the adventure!!

Well, he wants something similar in flavor to the Lipton's. I have other herbs I brew for myself, nettles, alfalfa, etc. but they're not what he's looking for.
Is there something like Lipton's but loose?
We don't have a tea shop nearby, I'm putting in a bulk order to MRH and wanted to include some for him.

I agree with the suggestion of the various "breakfast" teas, they tend to be mostly basic black tea with not too much else going on. I'm not sure what you have available but ask if they have any basic ceylon-type black teas.
If he'd like something with a bit more flavour/scent perhaps have him try earl grey to see if he likes it (should be able to get it at any grocery store, though it may not be the best quality). It's black tea with oil of bergamot added to it.
