I'm in Highland, NY (next to New Paltz) but my kids aren't actually mine, we've just been raising them becuase their parents ran off. The grandparents have custody now (we never did) and they live in Rockland.

But I'm here. ^^

i'm a bit furthur north, but i always try the library story hour first!

the librarian usually knows the scoop, and other parents know other groups too.

in hudson, try this playgroup:

good luck!

Hi guys. I'm in Cold Spring, but I happen to know of groups up your way...there is a Holistic Moms group (Dutchess County perhaps? I'm not sure what they call themselves)--you can seek them out at www.holisticmoms.org

Also the Hudson Valley Homebirth Support Network (or group?) has lots of meetups on both sides of the river: www.meetup.com/hvhomebirth

Finally, go to www.waddlenswaddle.com and check out their schedule, or just give them a call. It's a cloth dipe/natural mama store and resource that hosts lots of natural parenting classes and groups. There may be an AP group through there. And they'll know about all the HMN groups.

Best wishes!

dude. What is with this snow?? Look outside! This is either totally AWESOME or annoying as hell. I can't decide. lol It took us about a half hour to get the car unstuck yesterday (the neighbors and mailman thought this was hilarious, btw. I don't even know these people yet! At least the woman next door is super nice. ^^)

I live in Middletown and organize the Hudson Valley Parenting Support Group- we're open to all sorts of parents but most of the ones I have met at our playgroups and events have been AP-ish like me. The website is meetup.com/HVparent

There used to be a HMN of Orange but it got all drama-y and fell to bits from what I heard.

There's a free community baby shower coming up on the 27th in Walden. Tons of brand new stuff is being given away so tell your pregnant friends and I hope to see some of you there!
