Calm before the storm

Is this a normal routine? Two days ago, all three kids were perfect, PERFECT! The babies slept long stretches, were enjoyable and content just hanging out. DS was a joy. We did crafts and I even got time to myself to enjoy my own crafts. Of course that was a day my Grandma comes over to help although some times when she is here it's chaos so it's not her making it great. Now for the last two days, it's been pure hell. All three kids are crazy and making me crazy. My son is really acting out and the babies won't sleep unless I am holding them and aren't all that content then. Is this the price you have to pay for a good day? Does this happen to anyone else?

Yup, normal.

I had total chaos yesterday and this morning. Now? Everyone is quietly playing with their siblings, just hanging out. Last night was hell for sleep, so tonight is probably a good night.

I think they feed off each other. I notice one getting cranky, and the others will follow suit if I don't get the first one squared away. My never fail anti-cranky medicine? A nice warm, long bubblebath... for them! I always get at least 2 hours of happy kids out of that one. Some days we do 3 baths!

Sounds about right . I feel like we didn't have any middle of the road days when the twins were infants. Only really crazy awesome or horrid. There was no middle ground. Now we have more middle ground days. Just enjoy those perfect days !

Thanks mamas, glad to know it's normal. Today was a great day! I dropped one off with my grandma, took my son to preschool and went shopping with one baby. It was a dream. So hard to believe I thought having one child was hard. Anyway, no tantrums today, just easy kiddos...yay.
