Wanted to add about Diary of a wimpy kid....I don't know now if I would have left it out for my 7 yo but he is so intrigued. It has opened a world to him with some of the concepts and I think taken a bit of his innocence. But he is having so much fun with it and it is a great motivator of a book for him - this is the first book he can't seem to put down. Seems like some big concepts but the meaning of much of it is beyond him.

I didn't like the "hot girls" statment and the references to morons and cooties and such but he thinks it is a hoot. Just wanted to throw this out there if someone else is looking for info on the books.
