We are working on trying to heal our guts and recently bought xylitol to help reduce our sugar intake. We already do raw honey and maple syrup, but I was hoping this would be even better. Well, it gives my 3 year old DD diarrhea. Can anyone tell me why? I've read that sugar alcohols can do that in some people, but I don't understand the cause. My DD has had constipation issues since 6 months old, so something that helps her go is usually a welcomed thing...but I don't want it to aggrivate or slow down our healing. For DD we are also doing papaya enzymes w/ meals, daily multi vitamin, vitamin C, flax oil, cod liver oil, probiotics. I also let her try a little kombucha last night and it made her hyper active, so we will try that when she is further along with her healing. We have not had any noticeable difference in doing the other things.

For me, vitamin b, vitamin c, cod liver oil, flax oil, evening primrose oil, lots of coconut oil, milk thistle, kombucha.

If anyone has a suggestions about if xylitol is helpful or not, it would be appreciated.
