So for the record we're health nuts in this house/ organic/whoel foods health nuts to be exact and I also love love love coocnut for all it's magical healing properties. Coconut oil is found is practically every room in my house for some use or another.

What about this new packages coconut water? It seems like a great idea but is the stuff in the box processed to death?

From the title it sounds like you're asking about coconut milk, which we love and use all the time. But in the text, it sounds like you're asking about coconut water? I have it in the pantry to have on hand in case DS or DD2 gets sick, as an electrolyte replacer, because of their food intolerances to other things. I replace it when the expiration date comes up but don't really use it otherwise.

YES, thanks. Meant COCONUT WATER. The stuff that's in the beverage area at the health food store.

This is why I shouldn't eat and type.

Coconut water in the package tastes very different than fresh. Personally I don't care for it, all the flavor has been processed out of it. But, I've also heard that the so-called fresh young coconuts used for their water have been irradiated, so...

to confuse things even more, there is coconut milk beverage found in the refrigerated aisle of the store next to the other milks. it's what we use as a dairy sub. and yeah, it does appear to be heavily processed just as soy, rice and almond milk found in cartons are.

I use coconut itself (fresh) to made Coconut milk after save the coconut water. Could be good idea to frozen the water if you like for later o when somebody get sick. Most of the time I drink it inmediatly. LOL
With each coconut you can have 2 or 3 oz. of c. water.
I usually buy 3 coconut at the time ( ea.$1.40~). The milk from each coconut last around a week, the rest of the coconut milk goes to the freeze for the following week.
